Crack Monitoring
Crack monitoring is carried out on new & old properties,
both domestic & commercial. The monitoring of cracks is required
when:
- A structural report has identified serious structural cracks
due to subsidence or settlement.
- An insurance company requests monitoring of cracks in a potential
claim.
- An owner of property requires checking of old cracks for
peace of mind.
- Where development work is taken place adjoining a property(ie),
to check if damage is been caused to the property
by the development works.
Crack monitoring requires an initial structural report & subsequent
installation of crack monitors on the defects. The monitors need
to be inspected every three months & should be left in position
for period of two years.
The cost of the structural inspection & report starts at €320.00
for a three bedroom house. The crack monitors cost €125.00
each to install. The three monthly visit is €225.00. The cost
may vary with regard to location & the extent of cracking to
the property. The purchaser will be briefed after the inspection
has been carried out & the report & crack monitors are
normally completed & installed within two working days.
